Giovanni Vivino

Business Intelligence Engineer

Tableau · Databricks · dbt

About

I build the data products and Tableau dashboards that teams and leadership use to run the business, owning them end to end: modelling in Databricks, dbt and SQL, and delivery in Tableau.

Most of my work is turning manual, fragile reporting into automated pipelines people can trust, and defining the KPIs a company steers on.

Prima

Milan, Italy (Remote)

  1. Business Intelligence Engineer

    Mar 2025 - Present
    • Owned finance reporting automation end to end with the Weekly Finance Tracker across 3 markets, moving it off a legacy, analyst-run Excel process onto a dbt pipeline of 49 models over 37 sources and returning roughly 2 person-days a week to the team.
    • Led the migration off Tableau Prep onto dbt and Databricks, rebuilding the transformation layer as 60+ version-controlled, tested models.
    • Ran requirements directly with the CFO, CMO and ExCo, turning executive questions into 50+ KPI definitions the business reports on and the SQL behind them.
    • Designed and implemented the Key Risk Indicator (KRI) reporting framework with Risk Management, covering 10+ KRIs.
    • Shipped every data product through Git and the team's CI/CD pipelines: feature branches, pull requests, code review and automated checks before each release, in line with enterprise compliance standards.
    • Contributed to the context layer for an AI agent deployed on Databricks and connected to Tableau, so it can surface insights on 20+ dashboards used by 60+ ExCo members and directors.
